Stela Vitova, incredible interior designer, was responsible for the design of this wonderful Mid-Century Modern style bedroom in Bulgaria. Born in Bulgaria, she considers herself a designer highly passionate about interior design with a strong focus on details. She creates unique designs, a combination of creativity and style that makes her clients’ dreams come true, in addition to her excellent photo-realistic quality.
This room is inserted in a penthouse in Bulgaria, a country with several influences when it comes to interior design, given its past. Never neglecting its roots and culture, however it was strongly influenced by the historical landmarks that it suffered over the years, it became a very culturally rich country and the interior design was no exception. As we can see in this project, we managed to reconcile a mid-century period style with a more modern style, two completely contrasting styles that combined perfectly.
The bohemian design implemented on the penthouse in Bulgaria is just irresistible
“The bedroom is much more than a place to sleep, it is a refuge from the outside world” – Stela Vitova. A bedroom must adapt to the client’s personal taste and be in harmony with the rest of the spaces, but it must also offer the peace one so desperately needs, as well as a touch of luxury. From the furniture to the wall color, every detail counts, the lighting, the decorative accessories, every element of the project is essential to the creation of a small paradise, and the furniture and lighting by Essential Home and DelightFULL allowed exactly that.
Starting with the more Mid-Century side, we can see it in the patterns we have on the wall behind the bed, on the floor, and even in the use of dark wood. It’s worth mentioning that if there is a Mid-Century piece in this project it’s the dressing table Franco from Essential Home, built in solid wood, this dressing table holds a large mirror in the center surrounded by round lamps that make anyone feel like the star of the show!
Moving on to the leisure part we have a wonderful corner as a sitting area, where you can relax and read a book with an incredible view of the historic Bulgarian monuments. This whole area gives us the most modern and comfortable look, with very round lines and very soft and fluffy fabrics. We have the huge question mark shaped sofa made by designer Karim Rashid in partnership with Essential Home, the Kay sofa, accompanied by the small Zelda armchairs created by Studiopepe.
In the bedroom ESSENTIAL HOME used furnishings to create an intimate and cosy ambiance
The small Zelda armchair is a reinterpretation of the classic cockpit armchair with soft, enveloping shapes. Its backrest maintains the same rounded contour for comfort and the body is fully upholstered in Alpaca wool for a soothing feel. To enhance the design, the Zelda Small Armchair also features a custom brushed brass base that turns this modern organic furniture piece into the perfect fit with any space.
We finish this tour of the bedroom with the sleeping area, where the main piece is the Minelli bed, a bed right in the Mid-Century style with a touch of sophistication. This essential Home bed is beautifully paired with DelightFULL lighting, Cannonball, the central lamp above the bed, and the Turner wall lamps, inspired by Tina Turner. In conclusion, this room is a lot of inspiration, culture and history!
