Bonhams will host a Swiss Supercar Sunday next month, offering a host of high-performance collector cars, led by a Bugatti Chiron, Ferrari F40 and Ford GT, at its fourth Bonmont Sale on 18 June in Cheserex.
Named after the Monégasque racing driver Louis Chiron, the 1,500bhp Bugatti Chiron was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show as the marque’s fastest, most powerful production car to date, with its 8-litre Quad-turbo engine achieving a restricted top speed of 420kmh. Delivered new to Switzerland, this 2020 example has covered fewer than 5,500kms and is offered in a two-tone livery of Atlantic Blue and French Racing Blue. It has an estimate of CHF2,500,000-3,000,000.
A pair of Ferraris – a 1990 Ferrari F40 and a 2011 Ferrari 599 SA Aperta – will be battling at the podium with a Ford GT, echoing the marques’ famous rivalry at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans. The increasingly desirable F40, created to mark the firm’s 40th anniversary, was the final car to be overseen by Enzo Ferrari and is considered the last great analogue supercar. This matching numbers, low mileage (16,100kms) 1990 example has retained its original components and bodywork and is offered with an estimate of CHF2,000,000 – CHF2,500,000.
The legendary Ford GT has only covered a 750km
Its stablemate is a fewer than 350km from new 2011 599 SA Aperta. One of only 80 convertible variants produced in homage to designers Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina by the carrozzeria, it features F1-derived technology, powered by a 612bhp 6.0-liter V12 engine. Its estimate is CHF1,700,000-2,000,000.
The supercar offering from Ford is the homage to the original GT40 born out of the Dearborn giant’s ambition to vanquish Ferrari at Le Mans – a feat famously achieved with a 1-2-3 finish in 1966. Like the GT40, the second-generation Ford GT is powered by a V6 engine – a 3.5-litre 647hp turbocharged Ecoboost unit, housed in a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis and carbon-fibre body panels. This example has covered a mere 750km from new and has an estimate of CHF800,000-900,000.

One of only 150 examples of the 722 limited edition version of the Formula 1 derived supercar, which celebrated the 1955 Mille Miglia victory of Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson.
1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytona’ Berlinetta, estimate CHF450,000-550,000.
The world’s fastest production car of its time with its V12 engine achieving a top speed of more than 170mph. This matching numbers example is offered from 25 years’ ownership.
1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring, CHF 350,000-450,000
One of the greatest performance cars of the 1970s and the quintessential race-bred 911, featuring the then new aerodynamic ‘duck tail’ spoiler for high-speed stability. This authentic early example is presented as it left the factory.
2015 Aston Martin GT12, CHF 350,000-450,000 No Reserve
One of just 100 produced of the lightweight, most performance-focused limited edition of the Vantage, which sold out within weeks. Derived from the GT3, the GT12 is powered by a 6.0-litre 592hp V12 engine coupled with largely carbon-fibre bodywork. This car lines up with its stablemate, a 2016 Vantage GT8 (CHF200,000-300,000, No Reserve), one of 150 of the lightest and most powerful Vantage V8s produced. Both cars have covered fewer than 250km from new.
Among the 70 collector cars presented will also be luxury tourers including a 2015 Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf saloon, (CHF 150,000-300,000, No Reserve); boulevardiers such as a 1962 Citroën DS 19 Cabriolet, with coachwork by celebrated Parisian coachbuilder Henri Chapron (CHF160,000-200,000); a rare Swiss-made 1970 Monteverdi 275L (CHF 70,000-100,000, No Reserve), and a fabulous collection of baby Fiats led by an Abarth 695 (CHF 40,000-50,000) all offered at No Reserve.
As every year, the cars will be displayed prior to the sale in the grounds of the Bonmont golf club, overlooking Lake Geneva, before coming to auction, and will be available to view on:
