Michael Sieger’s “Greta” is an elegant composition of delicate lines and pure platinum. It is only on closer inspection that you notice the fine geometric structures, which appear to condense into solid areas from a distance.
The precise patterns are formed by fine circles, squares and their interaction. For Greta, a name derived from the word “pearl”, a narrow platinum rim is applied by hand and then polished. The precious metal has a matt finish that minimises reflections and complements the elegantly reserved light grey lines.
There are 35 wafer-thin pieces in the MY CHINA! Greta collection – and every single one is unique. All plates, bowls, cups and tea accessories have perfectly coordinated diameters and dimensions, allowing them to be flexibly combined. The fine yet highly functional porcelain is intended to enrich people’s lives at home. As Michael Sieger explains, “Everything revolves around the dining table – the heart of the home. It’s where families are brought closer together.” It’s surely no coincidence that the designer’s oldest daughter is also called Greta.
All pieces are made by hand in the Porzellanmanufaktur FÜRSTENBERG studios. The unique product quality and meticulous design make them versatile dinner companions – including for contemporary gastronomy. “Our porcelain encourages people to linger. In family homes or exclusive hotels – wherever people want to enjoy the good life,” according to Christian Sieger. The minimalist decor provides a discreet backdrop for food presentation. In addition, MY CHINA! Greta can also be combined harmoniously with other collections, especially Treasure Platinum.
