The Cuervo y Sobrinos brand couldn’t miss the chance to draw a parallel among the historical past of its place of origin. Secret beaches, buried treasures: Caribbean islands such as Cuba, Tortuga and Santo Domingo were once a favourite hunting ground for famous pirates. Mirroring this spirit of freedom, daring and adventure, Cuervo y Sobrinos pays a tribute to its origin creating watches with a strong identity inspired by the adventurous and romantic spirit of the buccaneers. This is why within the bezel the sentence “Pirata de el Tiempo de la Vida” is engraved.
The Torpedo Pirata watch is a wealth of details. All the parts are clearly reminiscent of the brazenness of the great pirates: the case is in the shape of a cannon mouth while the lugs represent the bow of a ship plundering on the Caribbean Sea. The crown subtle design in the shape of the globe and the buckle recaptures the design of the lugs.
An important feature of this masterpiece is the modular case composed of rings uniquely tailored allowing to combine the various metals which create a watch with ongoing evolution. In fact, the stainless-steel material used in the current model, is the innovation compared to its predecessors made in bronze, the material preferred at the time of the great buccaneers of the 17th century.
